What is Database? What is DBMS?

What is Database? What is DBMS? Know how to use it.

(database meaning, use of database management system)
If you do not know about the database, then in this post you have to get the information related to the database.

Normally, if we talk about, there are many types of data that we store online or offline. For example, in a computer, we keep data in the form of documents, worksheets, or program files.

The data of the work being done in a company or the data of the employees working in it are saved and kept in the database. And it is easily excessed when needed.

As per the requirement, we search the data online and get the result. But we do not know where all this data is kept and how it is managed?

In this, you will know what is the database?, What is Data? Use of database, What are the benefits of database, What is a database management system ?, Examples of DBMS, etc.
Now you will know about it easily one by one.

What is data?

(Data meaning)
Data is called that which keeps any text, number, image, audio, video, or any type of file, etc. present in the folder for online or offline use.

Processed in a particular form from the text, number, image, audio, video, etc., in different types of different formats, any file defined as any kind of information is also data.

It can be said in another way that text documents, images, video, audio, or any other kind of data which is processed and stored by a computer or another device. It is called data.

What is a database?

(What is Database meaning)
Any type of data in any format that is organized and kept. Where necessary, excess, edit, delete, the update can be done. It is called a database.

A database is an organized collection of types of information. Which is stored in an orderly manner. From where you can easily access and make changes.
Examples:-
  • In an MS-Excel sheet associated with any task, when putting that information in row and column. Then it is a database of an Excel sheet.
  • After the result of any exam is published, students see the result by typing their roll no. This process is called Accessing Database.
  • Many types of data of the user remain on Facebook.
  • Such as:- Their name, mobile number, profile pictures, friends, messages, posts, status, etc. All these details are stored only in the database present in the server.
  • Whatever information, product detail, etc. for the customer are stored in the database on an e-commerce website like Flipkart, Amazon.
  • There are many such databases where they store their information. Such as Google's database, Government's database, etc.

Database access

(database use, use of database management system)
As such, the database is used in infinite places. But in this, we will understand some examples. Where we store the data as a database according to their respective functions.
like:-
Social Media / Banking / Aadhaar Card / Railway Reservation System / Flight Reservation / Share Market / College / Nivarities / Share Market / Online Gaming / Telecommunication etc.

What are the benefits of database

(Database Benefits)
Any information present in the database can be easily accessed.
You can delete, change, and add store information to the database anytime.
Many users can access the same database simultaneously.
Through the database, even more, data can be stored in less space.
It provides features like backup and recovery.

What is a database management system

(database management system meaning)
Database Management System is a Software System. Through which the user can Create, Define, Maintain, and Control the database.

There are many software/programs to manage the database and these are called database management systems (DBMS).

This includes the collection of programs, which is used to maintain the database.

Through DBMS we can do many things. like:-
  • Can create a Database or Table.
  • You can insert data into a table.
  • You can search that data.
  • Can edit, delete, access, and update stored data.

DBMS Examples

(examples of DBMS, database examples, types of the database)
Some of the many examples of DBMS Software are given below.

MySQL: - MySQL is an open-source Relational database management system (RDBMS).
It is based on structure query language (SQL). Which supports almost all operating systems.

Oracle: - Oracle is called an object-relational database management system. Which was created by Oracle Corporation Company?

This is the first database designed for enterprise grid computing. It is the fourth generation of RDBMS. It is mostly used by companies requiring large amounts of data to be managed.

FoxPro: - MS Fox Pro is a database management system started by fox software. Which is currently under Microsoft protection. It is a database management system and text related oriented programming language.

MS Fox Pro is a powerful database management system as well as a Relational database management system (RDBMS).

MS Access: - MS Access is known by the name of Office Access. It is a member of the MS office. There is no need for a programming language to create a database through this.

It works on the GUI (graphical user interface). Therefore, anyone can use it easily without any knowledge.

SQL Server: - It is an RDBMS server developed by Microsoft. Which is used to create a computer database for MS-Windows? This creates the MS SQL server database.
Which can be accessed through workstations and the internet. It was created to compete with the oracle database and MySQL.

IMS: - The hierarchical model is adopted to store data in the IMS Database. Which is quite different from DB2 and Relational Model. This DBMS is used for Information Management on demand.

Personal Database: - This data is collected and stored on a personal computer. Which is small and easily manageable.

Commercial Database: - Commercial Database is a version of a large database designed specifically for users. Access to such databases is provided through commercial links.

Through this post about Database you have learned, "What is Database?"  What is Data? Usage of the database, what are the benefits of database, what is the database management system ?, examples of DBMS ”etc.

We hope that you have got something to learn from the information given about the database. If you like this information and have benefited from it, then please share this post on any social media platform.
